Rick,
That is a good question! I have no idea. As far as I can remember, most alcoholic drinks were safe.

Yup - thyca.org confirms it. http://www.thyca.org/rai.htm
Scroll down to "Foods That are Fine to Eat on the LID"

Good luck!

Hi robin,

Was wondering what brand of beer is safe to drink on a low iodine diet. I am on the diet now for about 2 to 3 weeks. I am meeting up with some friends, I can eat anything but maybe I'll grab a few beers. What types of beers would be safe to consume on this diet. I will not be driving home when I meet with my friends. Take care.

Cats are not stupid, for one, and if you live in an area where birds mice and lizards are abundant, along with gophers, your cat can eat those, as long as you have supplements for them. They cannot, however, go with out certain things. A cat is not simply a vegetarian, you can replace things in their diet yes, but you have to have something else to make up for that lost nutrition. And rice comes from a plant, not an animal.

And you wouldn't need to kill a chicken a day, 4 ounces is roughly about the size of your palm, and Rhode Island Reds (type of chicken) are rather large, so about 1 of those should do it for a few days if not then 2 days. But you would need a lot of chickens, more than 6-8. And it doesn't really matter what type of chicken you use to eat. Chicken is just that. Chicken.

No offense was intended, I hope you find this a bit useful.
Au revoir, ma cherie.

Hi Jennifer - I'm doing very well these days. I feel great - and I haven't gained or lost any weight in the past two years (seriously). I didn't have any problem at all with the adjustment of my meds.

I'm not sure if I have any real advice for her. My motto has always been "It's better to laugh about it, than to cry about it." I make cancer jokes around my friends and family, and constantly use it as a reason to not do chores. As long as she stays happy, and continues with her checkups for her entire life - she'll be fine. :)

Hi Robin!

I enjoyed your blog - especially the fact that your enthusiastic personality shone through!

My sister (33 years old) has been diagnosed with follicular thyroid cancer as well and is having her radiation treatment today. Can you tell me how you are doing now? and do you have any words of wisdom for her going forward?

Wishing you the best!
